I play guitar, i cant choose any electronics, can you help?

i have a fender strat, a fender hot rod deville, and i need to know what kind of pickups i should use, and i am also looking to buying a pedal board. what pedals should i buy for blues and rock type music. and what kind of pickups would have the best tone and hold the best sustain.

I personally like the boss me 6 guitar processor. I use it with both my fender strat and my ibanez.
