Isn’t Mel Gibson an ultra conservative who is a devout traditional Roman Catholic?
From my research, I have learned that there is a branch of Catholics that are referred to as “traditional Catholics” who follow the Catholic teachings and practices prior to the changes from the Second Vatican Council from the 1960′s. They’re ultra conservative who oppose the changes from the Council, such as the New Mass and the new theology.
Mel Gibson happens to be one of these Catholics. Though, reports have said that he is now going through a divorce and now has a new girl friend. Isn’t this a contradiction to his ultra conservative religious views?
From what I understand his wife is the one who filed for divorce.
But over all, yes I’d say it is a contradiction of his ultra conservative views. His lifestyle has gone through many changes, and over all he has changed (at least in the public eye), but being devout and/or ultra conservative doesn’t mean you always get it right. I think it’s difficult for us to assess what is happening in his marriage, his life and his relationship with God, by reading tabloids, and magazines.
