fender bassman speaker
Will 2x15watt Celestion Blue speakers work better then 2x50watt Celestion Gold speakers with my 50watt Bassman
Hi,
I have a 50 watt Fender Blackface Bassman head and I need to match it to a speaker cab. The load is 2 x 12″/4 ohms total (8 ohms each in parallel) and the output is 50watts.
I have 3 options either go with; either 2 Celestion blues (15watts I think), 2 Celestion golds (50watts) or 2 Jensen P12N (50watts)
I’m worried about matching the ohms and wattage primarily.
Which is the best option?
You do not mention the impedance of your amplifier.
The best combination is to have speakers Total Impedance to mach amplifier impedance. That allows the best use of the power.
