How much is a 1989 Gibson Les Paul Studio worth it?

Ok, so I'm thinking of buying my first Gibson (Whoop Whoop haha) One short offered to sell a 1989 Les Paul Studio for $ 600. The guitar is very used. The back of the neck has had some of the finish worn a lot of play, the end has some dents and scratches in the paint and the lack in some places. There is some fret wear but nothing that requires immediate repair. One of tuners has been replaced and the button color is a little different. If someone could give me a little feed identification again enjoy. Thanks Here There is a link to some photos … http://s563.photobucket.com/albums/ss79/crickettrickett2010/

That price seems about right, but maybe a little high. Studies Paul sold for about $ 800 – $ 1100 depending on the year, the state of equipment, etc. The end condition is yours, if you can live with it. This should not affect the sound or playability. HOWEVER, fret wear is a big problem. If the formation of grooves on the frets, you may need sanding and polishing in the near future (Few years). Not cheap. Also, if you've done before, you may need a fret job, and quite expensive. I would try to shoot to $ 500, depending wear on the frets. If it does not move, I suggest you get another $ 200 and a guitar in better condition and more cosmetic frets off Ebay … and preferably all originals. Most guitarists would consider old paint / finish on the back of your neck cool and adds character. The dents and dings on the forehead … not so well, but that's normal for a guitar 22 years (or less).
