How to fix scratches in the gel layer coupling / sliding. I fix or just deal with it.?
I bought a new boat makes a year and I have a few scratches in the gel layer to pull up the dock and slips. The first time I have it was not so good at getting it, but now I am much better, but sometimes when the wind is still difficult to avoid rubbing your dock where I have a fender. I have navy blue top coat so that when scratch the sample through white and very visible. I'ma very practical person, so I can buy something and fix my car? And more importantly should I care? I walked around the marina from my last trip and saw most boats have scratches on the spring line. Does every boat owner scratch the boat from time to time? This is my first boat to the sea and the first experience pulling in and out of slips. Especially with a 25 'cabin cruiser.
God … talk about diarrhea DOWNLOAD …… From what you describe has a scratch paint. The gelcoat is in it. Of course … a gouge has to fill the layer of gel … as must coincide with the top layer of blue paint, I only use epoxy putty. Try to find out what the painting is in your boat … it can be difficult. If it is dark blue … is super good opportunity is Awlgrip Flag Blue. It could also be Interlux Brightside or Imron or pounds …. Basically do a repair paint color … point and wet sand at the local level through the meal to end 2000, then a compound buff. I suggest that strips of spring …. mattress rails for spring. In my slip, I leave the dock attached to my defenses. And the practice more with friends on the dock to help. Good luck.
