Best quality for the money, Fender Mexican Standard P-bass or a modified one Escudero Vintage.?

Sooo I heard that the modification of vintage line Squire is half way decent. Please do not spam hate because I'm wondering what is best compared to a Mexican made Fender Squire. I know the major differences. Let me know if there is a substantial difference for less than a difference of $ 200
