WIll a Floyd rose whammy bar work with my squire stratocaster by fender?

there is the link to the whammy bar i want. My guitar does have a slot for the whammy bar, im am not sure it will fit though, and i wanted to ask before i bought it.
thankyou

I’m not sure I completely understand the question but here goes nothing…

It looks like you want to try to screw the floyd rose bar into the slot that the old regular fender whammy bar used to go into. It may work, it may not I’m not really sure. I’d suggest going to a music store and just seeing if you can check it out there.

Not to be a jerk but… is this purely a looks thing for your guitar? Because I’m sure you realize that you could just get a regular Fender replacement whammy bar and it’ll do the same thing.

But if you’re asking if a whole entire complete Floyd Rose system can be retro-fitted onto your Squire, the answer is probably yes BUT, it depends on certain factors.

I retro-fit a Floyd Rose on an American Standard Strat years ago. The key thing is how the original was set up in the first place.

If your Strat is Floyd Rose ready, the bridge will be set up with 2 posts on either side. Even then you’ll probably have to “scoop” out the wood underneath the new whammy so you can pull up on it. It’s pretty tough to do without guidance so don’t try it with someone who’s never done it before.

Now, if you don’t see the posts, you CAN put them in but they have to be PERFECT. Not a single millimeter difference or the guitar will never tune right. I know this from first hand experience.

I hope this wasn’t overkill.
