Bass guitar?

I've been playing bass for a couple of years and now I'm starting a band. I have an Ibanez GAXB150 is a really great bass, but I want to step up to something a little better. I can play mostly hard rock / punk / metal and generally hold standard or Eb tuning (with the odd drop D song here and there). What do you recommend upgrading to? By the way I do not want a Fender P or Jazz, just out of preference

Go to Ibamez a guitar (although it has one) look around they all have different sounds. It seems that everything Arent. for his style of music I would recommend a low such as ESP, great sound and aesthetics
