pickup fenders
Guitar pickup-change?
i bought a squier tele last year.
pretty good for its price.
but i honestly can’t take its crap pickups anymore
i was thinking on just buying a new set of pickups (around 100-150$ for new fender pickups maybe?)
i heard that the dimensions for the Squiers and Fenders differ, so im assuming some additional work would be need to be done when installing
how much do you think all that would cost (installing pickup change, configuration change on the body) minus the cost of the pickups?

I don’t think anything will have to be changed to put Fender pickups in a Squire Tele. You could probably get a guitar shop to install the new pickups for $50 or so. The hard part is soldering the wires correctly and getting the pickups at the right height. The dimensions don’t really differ between Fenders and Squires, it’s mainly just a difference in the type of woods and other materials.
I’d recommend DiMarzio pickups also because they are great quality at an affordable price. The DiMarzio technicians literally sit around all day trying to make the sound of their pickups perfect. They’ll take a Fender Tele pickup, look at it with a fine tooth comb, and keep tinkering with it until they make a classic design even better.
But the bottom line is, you’ll enjoy your guitar much more with better pickups.
