How Hard is it to replace a Fender standard Jazz Bass Pickguard?

I was wondering, because my friends Fender Standard Jazz bass look fugly with the black w/. white pickguard and I was wondering how hard/expensive it would be to replace it with a black pickguard?

Its not to difficult. All you need to do is to buy a new pickguard, normally around $30. Then remove the screws holding the pickguard on, also remove the screws holding the electronics in. The nobs are going to have to come off to push the pots out of the pickguard. In fenders the electronics are attached to the pickguard so be very careful not to yank on any of the wires. Once you have everything detached from the old pickguard simply the electronics into the new pickguard and screw it on.
