old fender acoustic guitars
Bought a guitar as a Christmas present, but I know nothing about them? Help, please? =]?
I bought my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years a brand new fender acoustic guitar because his other was quite old. I noticed when I got it home that the second thickest string (not sure what it is called) isn’t coiled as tightly to the top as the others. It looks as though it is coming loose… Does that matter? If so, would be be able to tighten it, or should I buy him a new strng for it, too?

Where did you buy it? You should take it to a music store and ask them to set it up for you. If you bought the guitar there, they will not charge you for it, but if you didnt there will be a nominal fee. But, if there isnt time, just leave it alone and let your boyfriend do it when he gets it on christmas- dont mess with it yourself. It might just need to be tuned. Have a merry christmas!
