new gibson les paul
1970s Gibson Les Paul VS new Epiphone Les Paul.?

Which is a better buy? The 70′s les paul is from around 1972 and is in fairly good condition. Which one would play better?

You should play them both and see which you like the feel and sound of the best. Choosing your guitar is a personal decision. I used to play a Fender and did not like the way my playing sounded. I did not know why. I just thought I was a bad player. Then, my son took me to try a Les Paul Epiphone. I sampled a few and found the one I liked. Now, my playing has improved a lot! I enjoy the sound of my Epiphone better than the Fender. I do not dislike Fenders – just for me the sound and feel I needed came from the Epiphone. Some people like the Vintage guitars because they say that the wood gets better with age and the guitar sounds better with age. But I say, play the guitar and buy the one YOU like. That would be the best buy.
