Squier vs. Fender……Epiphone vs. Gibson?

I can not notice the difference between a Squier Standard Strat and a Fender Standard Strat. Same with an Epiphone Standard Les Paul and a Gibson Standard Les Paul. They play the same, sound the same, and feel the same. I dont get why some people will not buy an Epiphone or Squier product, they seem like they are always looked down on. All you are paying for is the name.

If I remember right, it’s all about the where the guitar is made, Squiers are usually made in Korea and Fender Strats are US made.

I know someone who had a Squier and on the 3rd year his guitar neck had visible cracks (a lot) under the lamination, he’s been using a US made for the past 8 years and the neck is still fine.

I myself am using a US made Fender precision and it was made way back in ’84. I’ve only replaced the pickups a few years back (5 years ago)

I assume that it would also be the case with Gibson and Epiphone.
