Is an interview a primary source?

Im doing a research paper on Sarah Palin for history and i need primary and secondary sources. I want to use the transcripts of the interviews from Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson, as well as the transcript from the vp debate. So, are these three primary or secondary sources?
thanks

From my understanding of “primary source,” yes, an interview would be considered a primary source. A primary source is a document that relates information “first-hand” rather than providing additional commentary on original documents. For example, a transcript of the Palin-Biden debate would be considered a primary source, whereas an article in the New York Times about the debate would be considered a secondary source.
