Improve sound of my gibson les paul studio?

I recently bought a used 2003 gibson les paul studio in alpine white with gold hardware. It doesn’t sound as full as my schecter synyster custom and it almost sounds “tinny.” Anyone know what to do to improve the sound?
Is it worth selling this guitar for something else in the same price range ($1,000 and under)

People always assume its the guitar that changes the tone, while this is true the biggest factor is usually your amp, and finding one that works well with your guitar(s). If you don’t have the money, though, pickups can make quite a large difference, particularly for that “tinny” (great adjetive) problem, along with other types of “buzz” and such.
