What are good options to play slide guitar (or slide guitar)?

I like to make my guitar (a Gibson SG), sound near pedal steel as possible. Any suggestions / setting you want to recommend?

OK, here are a couple fairly common (in the period during major chain a minor adjustment to normal EADGBE) Open E: EBEABE (you agree on the most open of the "e Natural" agree) Open G: DGDGBD (ie gives an open G chord a fifth below the root. common blues tuning) There is also a really cool open setting that Soundgarden I used to try to remember (Without my guitar in my office) Open C: CGDGBB (E Tune bottom two steps together, the one in step 1 all Let D, G, B, E and on top throughout the match B. Very cool buzz, and two 5ths in the bass strings. Very heavy, but with twice the buzz pensions give a strange sound.)

Alvino Rey plays “St. Louis Blues” with Stringy the talking steel guitar!
