Gibson Les Paul Special?

Ok, I bought a Gibson Les Paul Special, a couple of years out of Ben Carey (Lifehouse guitarist and Savage Garden). Need to know what version it is. I paid $ 800 and has a bright red paint. Ben says he is worth more than a thousand if I gave him one or two years. Ben also said he has played in two concerts, wild garden or even seen one of his films. Do more to increase its value? Thank you.

value is determined by age and quality of the instrument. That was owned by someone who is well known sorta is useful if you want to sell to a fan of it, but it makes no difference to a collector seriously. Unless someone who is very famous (Ben did not qualify)
