gibson signature guitar

Gibson Firebird or Gibson ES 335?
for musical style like Green Day, The All-American Rejects, Jimmy Eat World
or should I get Gibson SG Angus Young Signature. This is comparson between three guitars
Gibson SG Angus Young Signature, Gibson ES 335, Gibson Firebird. please do not say like epiphone les paul because i dont want to ask this AGAIN
youre playing heavy music, the ES 335 is more of a jazz/ blues guitar. although it can do heavier stuff, its just not best suited for it.
i think youll want a solidbody, the SG and the Firebird are your best options.
your sound really depends on what type of wood the guitar is made of.
A Firebird and an SG should both be mahogany (if you’re getting an actual Gibson like you say)
so youd be covered tone and sustain wise.
Now the difference between the Firebird and the SG are the pickups.
The Birds got mini humbuckers and the SG has regular old humbuckers, sometimes p90s depending on the model.
Mini humbuckers are basically single coils, but they can get heavy and retain clarity and they have a brightness about them.
Ive got an Eastwood Gemini that im in love with solely because of the stock mini hums.
they sound vicious with distortion and handle any effects really well.
you can tell when a player is using minis if you really listen.
On the other hand the humbuckers in the SG will handle all your heavy stuff, basic all around.
The P90 equipped SG is the better choice to me because P90s give you a huge wall of sound and retains its clarity and bite, plus they have a wide open, airy kind of sound. Id recommend them over the humbuckers.
An example of a P90 would be Green Days song “know your enemy”
Overall id say the Firebird.
You must be rich if youre getting an actual Gib, thats awesome man, good luck and enjoy.
