gibson sg standard cherry
What do you think about this guitar– Epiphone Vintage G-400!!!?
It looks pretty sweet but I’m no guitar expert. I’ve heard it’s just as good as a Gibson, not like the Squire garbage fender makes where they fall apart a week after you get them. This is a real guitar here. It’s just a standard SG make to look like a clssic, right? Now I know it looks cool, but does it sound good? Tell me what you think of this guitar. (by the way I’m getting the cherry-colored one for my birthday!)

Epiphone is Gibsons import line. They usually come from Korea but there are some that are made in China as well.
That being said, Epi workmanship easily rivals Gibson in many respects, but the electronics are cheaper and the woods tend to be a little lower quality.
Would I buy a Gibson over an Epiphone today? Probably not. Is there $1000 worth of difference between the two? Absolutely not. If anything, I would upgrade the electronics in the Epi and leave it there.
