Gibson sg special faded?

There are 2 barely used faded sg’s at my guitar shop for $500 each.
worn brown and worn cherry.
what do you think of this? good deal?
what upgrades would you suggest?
is this guitar also good for some blues or not really?
do you like the faded sg?

for 500 you can get a esp viper 400 new from musicians friend. i consider that a better guitar than the gibson sg faded. for that price. yes i do have a gibson sg also, but for 500 the esp is your best bet. however, both are good for blues
