Gibson/Epiphone SG vs Gibson/Epi Flying V?

I am looking at a new guitar. I saw a used Gibson SG at a reasonable price, but is a brand new Epiphone SG better off getting than the used Gibson. I am also looking at a flying V, but it would most likely be Epiphone. I currently have an Epiphone Zakk Wylde les Paul w/ EMG’s. Any other suggestions. Also looking at a new amp for rock/metal. Any suggestions?

I’ve always preferred the flying v over the sg just because I find it easier to play the highest frets. I would go with a Gibson Flying V, they’re pretty reasonably priced if you want a used one (doesn’t bother me). I can’t speak for the Epiphone V’s though, I’ve never played one. Amp wise look at Krank or Randall. Line 6 has got a tube amp now and its pretty cool as well (about 800-900 dollars for the head)
