gibson SG or Epiphone Les Paul?

Both are same price which one is better dont judge just because the sg is gibson which is better first les paul or sg then judge on gibson or epiphone haha i play alternative/rock/hard rock/ tyny bit metal thanks

OK. I have a bunch of Gibson Les Pauls, Epiphone Les Pauls, one Epi SG and I owned a limited edition platinum series SG Gibson. The SG’s are just thin sounding. The bodies are really thin also, so you won’t get alot of sustain out of them. Since I’ve sold the Gibson SG, I haven’t even looked at the Epiphone SG.
I’m in a band and I NEVER take my Gibson Les Pauls to gig or practice. They’re just too expensive to risk damage. Besides which I actually like the Epiphone Les Pauls better. The finish on the Epi compared to the Gibson is superior. (the wood isn’t, but over all the Epi has a nicer feel to it) If you don’t believe me, go to Guitar Center and play both. I have a Zakk Wylde Epiphone and a Standard Epiphone (also a standard Gibson LP). The Zakk Wylde is a tone monster with EMG pickups. This has to be one of my favorite guitars in my collection and I don’t think I paid more than 500 bucks for it. A standard Les Paul Epi can be had for about 325.00.
