gibson sg classic black

Would you recommend the Gibson SG Classic for me?
I play Black Sabbath, Slayer, Metallica, Judas Priest, Rage Against The Machine, Guns N Roses.
I dont know if the guitar’s P-90 pickups are good for anything besides 60′s music and Sabbath.
anyways, I want a Gibson, but dont know which one to get.
people say they have characteristics of both single coils and humbuckers. that attracts me, but I do wanna play some slayer sometimes w/o having it sound light.
les paul is way too much for me. 3 grand for the real one. i dont want to get the studio b/c it isnt the real thing. at least with an sg, i can get the best sg out there. same with explorer..but i dont like the shape anymore.
Tony Iommy of Black Sabbath started out with an SG. Listen to the album “Paranoid”, most of that album is played with an SG. If you don’t like the sound of the P-90′s than you can always replace them with a hotter P/U, like a dimarzio. Personally I prefer the flying V over any of the other gibsons. When I toured in the early 90′s that was my main guitar and it’ll play any type of music you can throw at it.
Main thing to remember about the music that you play is you have to have an amp that has a good distortion channel on it. Usually if you aren’t playing professionally a solid state amp would get you the tone that you want. The new amp from Peavy the Joe Satriani model has great shread potential. Good luck.
