Gibson Les Paul Traditional?

is it suitable for alternative rock punk rock genre? Is it more suitable then sg 61 reissue for that genre, srry if ive been asking this a lot this will be the final question. please answer with detail

Anythings suitable for any genre, depends on the guitar player, back in the day when the electric guitar was becoming common place, the Gibson was king then came along the Fender Stratocaster with it’s more comfortable design and single coil pickups with that distinctive sound, so to combat the rival Gibson came up with the SG still using the humbucking pickups to give it it’s own sigunature sound, myself I prefer a Gretsch or Rickenbacker,
