What seller makes great Gibsons for $100-$250?And which guitar will play these songs better?SG or Les Paul?

First of all, sellers don’t ‘make’ Gibsons, they just sell them. For new guitars, I’d go to Guitar Center or Sam Ash. They buy in huge bulks and not many smaller guitar shops can touch their prices. For used guitars, try eBay if you don’t mind paying for shipping. Online retailers such as Musician’s Friend have pretty good deals as well. Or, a local newspaper like Pennysaver usually have killer deals on used guitars.

For the price you want to pay, I’d look at Epiphone Guitars. They are a subdivision of Gibson and make most of the same styles as Gibson but MUCH less expensive. Epiphones are basically Gibsons… same company, different name. They are pretty decent too… not as good as a real Gibson, but still good.

Les Pauls will give you a richer sound than SGs, but they are EXTREMELY heavy and considerably more expensive than an SG. I personally love SGs. The sound of an SG would be perfect for what you want. They’re lighter, less expensive, and IMO, cooler looking than a LP.
