Authenticating Music Memorabilia?

We have a busted guitar that we beilieve was destroyed on stage by Pete Townshend at a Who show in Phoenix in 1975-6. It’s a Sunburst Gibson Les Paul which we know he has used. How/who do I contact to try and get this thing verified? We’re trying to put together a media room in our new house and this would be the crowning jewel.
