What brand of guitar do you play? Why do you like it? What does it look like and how much did it cost you?

I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio. I just like the sound of it. It is wine red with gold hardware. I paid 1200.00. Worth every penny!

I am a guitar performance major and I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio also (for my electric). It cost about 1200 also and its a very nice guitar.

My classical is a 2006 Tom Rodriguez, who is a luthier from Richmond Virginia. It is a Cedar top, with Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and has a lattice braced soundboard, which cost $5000. It plays wonderfully, and sounds amazing.

If you really want a great guitar, play something that isn’t factory built, but rather luthiered, the quality is much higher (and I never even realized it until I was shopping for mine). There are many luthiers out there who build not only classical guitars, but steel string and electric as well. To find a list of them go to the GFA website www.guitarfoundation.org or just search “luthiers” in a yahoo browser and it should bring up jazz luthiers, classical, acoustic, etc…

Keep playing!
