Why do tuners from a brand new Gibson Les Paul 2009 Studio not fit?

Why do tuners from a brand new Gibson Les Paul 2009 Studio “Raw Power” not fit on a different Gibson Les Paul Studio body? The holes drilled in the “raw power” were bigger in diameter than the other studio body? Are there different sizes? whats the deal, yahoo?
thanks, but it’s all USA Gibson and it’s the holes made in the guitars that are different sizes.

It’s quite common for manufacturers to use different brands or models of tuning machines on their different lines. Among the major manufacturers – Shaller, Grover, Sperzel, Kluson, and Gotoh – each one has slightly different dimensions and mounting hole placement. And even within a given manufacturer their different models may very well have different measurements. It’s frustrating but that’s the way it is. You always need to make sure when replacing tuning machines that you buy compatible ones.

Edited to add: I understand it’s all USA Gibsons and you’re talking about the holes in the headstock but my statement stands. Not every Gibson uses the same tuning machines. In fact, even for a given specific model they may change the tuning machines over time.
