help with picking a guitar?

hi guys, i really wanna learn the electric guitar, im glued on a les paul studio- priced at 949.00 on guitar center, but i wanna know, cuz the type of music i like is guns n roses nd classic rock and i wanted to know if this is a good guitar for its price to start, with the right sound for music i’m looking for or is there something cheaper and better, i found this gibson les paul studio for 949.00

Okay, here is my recommendation. Gibson LP Studio’s are good guitars, don’t get me wrong, but what I would do is search on ebay or even craigslist for a new or slightly used Gibson Les Paul Standard or Classic. Studio’s are fine, they just utilize normally different wood and different pickups. If you want that true GnR sound, you’ll want a true Les Paul. You should be able to find one soon enough, maybe slightly more money, but worth every penny. I tell everyone time and time again that you will regret spending money on something that you don’t really like more than you will regret spending a little more money on something you love.
