are EMG pickups good for BLUES and CLASSIC ROCK ?

i was looking at the LTD ec-1000 with active 81 pickup and 60
i play mostly blues, rock, classic rock, some metal
also…hows the tone on this guitar..i really like the Les paul tone…is it close?? i dont wanna blow 2000 bucks on a gibson
and epi’s are too cheap (material)

Emg 81s are great. Just don’t forget to change the battery once in a while. But don’t count out the Epiphones.Te quality has gone up a lot lately. For the money, they are really good.
