gibson les paul bfg guitar
08 Gibson Les Paul BFG Limited???

I’m thinking about getting a Les Paul BFG, cause i love the sound of it, its a good quality guitar, and its not that expensive.. but, i was wondering if it ALWAYS has that rock n’ roll scratchy sound? even when you have it pretty toned down and not hitting the strings as hard?
Cause that would make it kinda tricky to play more mellow songs n’ stuff..
thanks for your answers.

I’m not sure what you mean by scratchy sound–maybe distortion. As far as I am concerned, there is nothing better than a Gibson guitar. And when it comes to electric guitars, the Les Paul is king. You should be able to get any kind of tone you want out of a Les Paul–clean or distorted. If you can not get the clean mellow tone you looking for, you might want to have someone check the set-up. If the neck is not straight the strings can vibrate they make contact with the frets. This might explain the “scratchy sound” you refer to.

Another factor to consider is the kind of amp you are using. If you are playing a $3600 Les Paul on a $100 amp, then your Les Paul will sound like a $100 guitar.

Hope this helps.
