Is the Maestro Gibson a good guitar for a beginner?

I’ve been thinking about buying a guitar for a while, and I’ve done a bit of research. I am a beginner with semi-long, chubby fingers. I want a guitar that will work for me and won’t cost me an arm and a leg. The Maestro Gibson is what I’ve been favoring by the reviews I’ve read and pictures I’ve seen. I can’t drive so if I go into town and look for a guitar, I am planning to buy one the same day. Is the Maestro a good choice for it’s price and quality? I’m also going to take online lessons, so is this guitar user-friendly too?

Buy a guitar at a music store and nowhere else. Not from the internet and definitely not from a big box store like Best Buy or Walmart. You will notice that music stores never sell the Maestro because it’s simply too low quality. You’re much better off spending a little more and at least getting a guitar good enough to not hold you back. Expect to pay around $200 for a minimally acceptable beginner’s guitar plus another $100 for a practice amp if the guitar is electric.

Good luck.
