Vintage Gibson guitars are generally recognized as the 1920's through the 70's. Some experts disagree and use the short period from the 1930's to early 70's, regardless of previous models as if they were somehow inferior. Some 1980 models are now fetching high prices, but can not really be classified as vintage guitars because modern production methods and materials used in its construction.

Gibson guitars has been considered the Rolls Royce of guitar world. As such are sought after by music lovers and investors, whether players or not.
