gibson es 335 neck
Is it possible to put a Gibson SG Neck on a Gibson Les Paul body?

so i have this sg neck, and i would like to make a full sg, or es-335 bc they have the same necks, but i cant find any set neck bodies. but les paul bodies seem to come in abundance. could i put the neck on a les paul? it doesnt have to be a gibson body? im not interested in name as much as fit.
i acquired it on ebay, when i thought i was going to have an sg body, and it is in pretty rough shape. i was hoping to make a project of restoring the neck and also a body if need be. i was bidding on a body recently, but i was outbid at the last second. and what you said sounded about right. they do seem to have much thinner necks than the les paul, but maybe… idk. i might just clean the neck up and resell it on ebay for some other fool to play with haha

To be honest, I’m not really sure if an SG neck would fit into a Les Paul Body.
I did some research and I couldn’t find SG bodies either. I did find one “set” neck Les Paul Kit.

(this dealer also use to carry SG kits, but the neck was bolt on.)

But most guitar bodies sold are made for bolt on neck type guitars.

It seems to me though, that an SG neck is a bit slimmer and less wide than a Les Paul Neck. (if my memory of playing them serves me right) So I don’t think an SG neck would work right.

For the price and effort of dong all that you’d be better off just getting a good set neck Epiphone G-400 instead of trying to build an SG yourself.

I’m curious as to how you got a Gibson SG neck by itself in the first place, though. I’m pretty sure all Gibson SG’s are set necks….

I had an interesting time searching around for you, But did not have a lot of luck
Did find something on Craiglist about a SG body.

I imagine it would also be quite a challenge to actually mount a set neck, even in a proper body, you’d need to know what kind of adhesive, the exact placement of the neck and the angle of it…one mistake and you have no intonation and action either too low or too high and no way to fix it…..

Good Luck
