Should i sell my Gibson ES 333 (different from the 335…cheaper. Around 1200) and buy a G&L S-500?

The 333 is a discontinued guitar from Gibson…it is similar to a 335.

I play rock, blues, jazz and some prog rock stuff.

Also i have a Fender Twin Reverb

That’s a tough call. A REALLY tough call. As much as I’m a fan of the strat (G&L’s too), I’d have to say that big boxy Gibson probably sounds great playing the blues and jazz. The G&L would be versatile enough to do all 4 types of sound that you mention, but I personally would have a hard time getting rid of something with as much character as your ES 333 only to replace it with a G&L strat copy (not nearly as much character in my opinion).

Nice amp too!

Good luck with that debacle (keep the Gibson and get a Fender American Standard Strat–that’s a good compromise eh?)

Playin’ the Blues with my 1972 Gibson ES 335 & 1970 Fender Twin Reverb
