Which type of acoustic guitar brand should i opt for??

I dont know anything about guitars. i want to learn guitars now on my own, from a learning book. I will learn acoustic guitar for sure, not the semi-electric ones. I just know two good brands as of now, Gibson and Squire. I just want to know more about these and their models, if any???? it will be more helpful if you give the approx price range for them. thanks in advance. i m from kolkata, india….

Let me say this, do not get a Squire. I’ve played three. One was average (a Strat electric), one was poor (an acoustic starter guitar), and one was awful (a mini Strat). Gibsons are very good, but very expensive ($800+, but you may be able to find them for cheaper). I would suggest Seagull if you can find one. They are less than Gibsons and such ($250-$500), well made, and they sound great. There are other brands out there that make great guitars for lower prices. Try looking up Ibanez and Yahama too, I’d imagine you could find good guitars from them for around $200 or less.
