anyone who knows bout gibson can u answer this?

i ordered a gibson les paul classic vintage sunburst, the guitar dealer has said its gunna take 30 days. he knows weve been waiting and he said hell give us a deal on a gibson standard les paul and he says its better. i like the look of the classic better. i know theres a 500 dollar difference but is there realy a big difference. i want my classic and he keeps saying not to pass on the standard. whats the deal?

Id go with the classic,there are cheap knock-off gibsons out there,beware..
