Since the 1950s Gibson Guitars have sold a lot of different guitars. Electric Spanish is the meaning of the ES Guitar model.

There are a variety of Gibson ES guitars, such as the Gibson ES-335, which is the first semi-acoustic electric guitar. This particular model carries a number of distinguishable features including a semi-hollow body that has hollow side wings, a solid wood center and two f-holes in a violin style that sit over the chambers, which are hollow. The neck joint for this Gibson ES model is set and comes with a 24.75 inch scale length. Maple is the main type of wood used for the center of the body and in some cases maple plywood is used. Although most standard Gibson ES-335s come with necks made of mahogany there are also some models that are made of maple.

Ebony is preferred by other models to go with while the wood of choice for the fret board is rosewood. Another popular Gibson ES guitar is the Gibson ES-175, which is also an electric guitar. First introduce to the public in 1949. This model has a hollow body with a set neck joint unlike the Gibson ES-335. For the neck mahogany is the wood of choice while for the fret board rosewood is used. One single-coil, two single-coils, or two humbuckers are the included variety of pickups that feature in this type of guitar. Wine red, antique natural and vintage sunburst are the available colors for the Gibson ES model.
