Which is better?

Last week, I got a Epoch (from Gibson/Baldwin) from Target for a hundred bucks. The thing is, that guitar is HORRIBLE, it sucks. My guitar teacher told me to buy any other decent guitar. So now, I’m down with three brands: Yamaha, SIlvertone, or Spencer. Seriously, I’ve never even heard of Silvertone or Spencer. But some say that it’s good. Do you know if these guitars are any good? If so, which is the best?

I’d buy a Yamaha or an Ibanez.
