Good guitar amps for around $100?

hey, i need a new amp for my guitar.i currently have a red jay turser strat (beginner guitar) i wanted a new amp becuase the one i have is a piece of shit. also, in a few months im getting a new guitar, probly gunna get an SG not sure if its gonna be gibson or epi. the amp has to be able to play soft rock as well as heavy rock. any ideas?

Hello there,

The Fender Bullet Reverb is widely considered one of the two best practice amps. I think it is the best practice amp. It is powerful and sounds a lot bigger. Also, it gives you a great tone. True, it does not have the built in effects, like a Line 6. You can get that, if you need it, from your pedals anyway. You want the best sounding amp, not the one with the most gimmicks.

Also, you can generally find a used one on eBay for under $50. I gave one of these to every one of my nephews when they started learning. The reverb is not quite as heavy and watery as you might want for surf, but for rock it is great. I have had one for years and will always keep one around.

You can check out the reviews at Harmony Central if you wish.
