How Can You Tell If Guitar Strings Are “Steel” Or “Classical”?

My dad left me a 12 string acoustic Gibson. I think it’s a B-45-12. How can I tell if the strings are steel or classical? They are a bronzy/pink color. The guitar has a pick guard.

Ive never seen a 12 string guitar that wasn’t steel. Classical guitars usually have nylon strings as the bottom 3. If you are looking to restring it, Id recommend taking it to your local guitar center or music store. Not only will they recommend some good strings for you, but they will install them as well, which is preferred since 12 strings are much more difficult to restring than traditional 6 strings and its always good to have a pro show you how its done.
