gibson 12 string guitar
Whats wrong with my guitar?
I have a Spirit SG guitar (cheap made Gibson) and all of the sudden when i plug it into the amp, it makes a whining sound that wont stop. It sounds like feedback and when i play, you can hear it in the song. It seems to get louder when i put my fingers close to the strings. When i take my fingers away form the strings it gets more quiet but i can still hear it. I have changed strings ( it needed new ones anyway) and that didn’t help.
I have another guitar and it doesn’t do this, when i stop playing, there is silence. I hooked my Spirit up to another amp and it makes the squealing sound too. I have backed up away from the amp about 12 feet and it still makes the sound .Have one of the pickups gone bad?? What is the problem??

It could be a bad pickup or a loose wire or a ground problem.
