What is the best electric guitar for the starter?

I've been playing acoustic for 2 or 3 years .. now about me and my friend calls to participate in his band .. So I want to get an electric guitar, but I've never played before .. My band plays rock / punk / metal I've heard that Fender Stratocaster VG electric guitar is truly impressive, but obviously I can not afford that .. or maybe later I could for now only wanted the best electric guitar a beginner like me … What guitar (band + version) I can get about $ 400 – $ 700?

If you mean getting a Jackson dinky metal. They are all over that amount of money. Punk With nothing works because nobody cares about playing guitar (which usually have interesting looking guitars over real nice guitars.) If you want a $ 400 Mexican Fender Strats are really great guitars. You should go walk to the center of the guitar and look around because people are very helpful and usually give discounts if you like. They like it, if you play loud and hear what they have to say. Ibanez are also very nice (but I like the S series, which is a bit more expensive, but you may be able to obtain a series S $ 700)
