fender tube amp head

Good amp to play alternative-punk guitar stuff?
Hi I’m playing with a fender mim stratocaster and i am currently using a fender g dec 30 amp. I am very interested in playing music such as bands like blink 182, bad religion, offspring, rise against, the strokes, sum 41, and bloc party. However I’m not sure what to get. I know that i am looking for a moderately powerful amp so that i could play in a band. Then i would just add a cabinet to it later in the future for gigs. My current price range is probably gonna be at a max of about 800 since i’m only 16 and i don’t make a lot of money. And also i was thinking to head towards the way of buying a tube amp because of the sound and quality of them.
so HELP
wait i take that back my limit would be $1000
You are on the right track man! Tube amps are the way to go. First you must understand, with a tube amp, you have to crank the volume loud to get a good tone. I would try to get a Mesa, because that’s what most of those bands play. A Dual Rectifier would be at the top of the list. However, this is going to be too loud to play at home if you live in a neighborhood. Next would be a single rectifier. You could always opt to get a combo amp like this, which I prefer over a half stack. There is also a great Mesa Amp that I once had called the DC-5. It was perfect, and I was an idiot for returning it. The only downside was how loud it was. My neighbors always complained about it. Other good amps that are just slightly out of your price range are: Orange Rockerverb series, Vox AC30, and the Peavey 6505+.
