Well first, the EMG pickups are active so it must replace the entire system, Trucks, boats, switches, everything. And you will be able to everything with a 9 volt battery. Texas specials are good, but if you play blues or country probably will not be happy with them. If G & R, AC / DC and the like would be much better with a short scale guitar with some good humbucking pickups. I would suggest a Gibson SG or Les Paul style guitar.
