fender super 60 head

Help with guitar amps, type?
like, im looking to buy a new amp soon, upgrading from a 50 dollar 17 watt or so to a 300 or 400 dollar amp hopefully
If i was to do so, what type of amp should i be looking for.
I know theres the decision between solid state and tube amp, and solid states i get louder for cheaper and i dont really need the super quality from a tube, and i dont want to have to replace the tubes
But the main question is What type of amp should i get. i have no idea!
i just have a little small amp, why is a stack better? like a stack is just an amp with a head on it. whats the head, like i know what it is but what is the point of it…..
I need help, please explain!
btw i tend to play metal and music with distortion if that makes a difference
i currently have a fender 60th anniversary strat, and i plan on getting a better guitar for metal considering mine doesnt even have humbuckers.
unless i can run some emg pickups through my strat… nah ima get like a jackson.
the head is your amp.
and stacks arent really any better than good combo amp( speakers with a fixed in head)
for the price your looking to spend you may have to settle on a good combo with two 12” speakers..(unless you shop used)..you can always add more cabs later if the head holds enough wattage and has the availible 1/4” jacks to add more cabs…..my lead guitarist plays through a combo marshall 212 …he later added mesa 2 10” to the bottom and its more powerful than our rhythm guitarist’s mesa stack!!
buying a new amp can be scary….you need to go test them out at your local music store…play with all the clicks and whistle of all the different brands till you find one YOU like….dont buy one cause others on here suggest it….go out and rock em all!!!!….thats how you find a great gear investment.
good luck bro
also,if you like jackson guitars…..try a schecter guitar…..you might dig it!!
