What is the difference between super-shallow and deep body guitars?

Well, I have a dilemma, I’ve been playing guitar for about 5 months now, using only my squire stratocaster, she’s nice but I don’t want to take her places, so I’m buying an acoustic, but 1 problem, I’m stuck. I fell in love with a Fender Sunburst Dreadnought guitar, and an ovation applause AE148 super-shallow guitar (only the ovation is acoustic/electric / and is easier to carry), so, my question is, if I buy the ovation, will I be sacrificing anything related to sound, or anything, when I do not use an amp? Which one is the best choice? HOW DOES THE SUPER-SHALLOW CONTRIBUTE TO THE SOUND OF THE GUITAR WITH / WITHOUT AN AMP???

tone and how it broadcasts, I had an Ovation years ago when they were all the rage with the composite design, but sense then I discovered there’s no substitute for fine wood. and the applause is just a cheaper version of the true Ovation so I imagine a super shallow relies heavily on it’s pickup to broadcast sound as there’s not much sound box there, and as far as the Fender acoustics go, I never cared for them, but others swear by them, your best bet would be try them both. if it were me I’d look at the Ibanez stuff they hold up really good and travel well, have an old PF that’s on its 2nd kid now still plays and sounds great, but then again I use that excuse to hand down some of my older less expensive guitars so I can buy new ones and the old lady doesn’t complain as much.
