what is my fender strat worth?

Its a 1993 Fender Stratocaster, made in USA. It is black. The pickups have been replaced with SCN noiseless and the pickguard replaced with a black one. (still have original pieces). Resembles the David Gilmour “black strat”. It has TBX tone control. There is not one scratch on it. It is seriously mint. It has spent most of its life in its hardshell case. Just curious what it is worth.

Hello! Interestingly enough, my main guitar happens to be a deep red 1993 American Standard Stratocaster that I had bought new that year! I wish I could say these guitars have appreciated like the vintage 1950s and 1960s Stratocasters, but that is just not the case; nonetheless, a well-maintained perfect-condition non-vintage high-quality instrument will generally be worth close to the going price for an equivalent new guitar. Keep in mind that most people are not going to pay more for a non-specialized pre-owned guitar than they would for essentially the same brand-new instrument with a factory warranty! New Fender American Standard Stratocasters have a street price averaging $1000; but of course, you have to factor in any special editions, colors, and unique features that could add to the desirability. Since yours is the basic standard version in like-new condition with upgraded pickups and pickguard, it is most likely going to fall into the $900-1000 value range. On my own guitar, since I have extensively upgraded and modified the electronics and hardware to suit my needs, I doubt if I could sell it for more than $800. Unfortunately, what we each may consider to be improvements made to our instruments may instead be viewed as detriments by potential buyers. As a final note, the best place I have found to both buy and sell pre-owned instruments and accessories is eBay. Best regards, Dana
