Fender or Ibanez guitar?

Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster
or
Ibanez Guitar (I don’t know model)

I cannot decide which guitar to get. I like the price tag on the Strat ($120.00), and I cannot go much higher.
I am looking to play metal. Like the music in Slayer (the band).

Which guitar would be best?

Ibanez guitars are fantastic for metal, since they’ve got really thin necks and low action. Most of the solid-body ones are designed specifically for hard rock and metal players, as well, so the sound is better for those styles than that of a Strat.

It would be a good idea to go to a guitar store and compare the brands, since each one has its own feel. Even if the store doesn’t have the Bullet Strat, you’ll get a good idea of the Fender feel by playing any Strat or Telecaster (the necks are distinctive). And if you play a few Ibanez models, you’ll be able to compare the necks and see which one feels right to you. If you happen to like an Ibanez model that costs more than you want to spend, it’s worth looking online for a used one. I still own and play a second-hand Ibanez guitar I bought more than 20 years ago, figuring I’d use it to learn and then upgrade to a Fender Telecaster. I eventually did get the Tele, but still consider the Ibanez my primary guitar because it’s built like a rock, sounds great, and hasn’t given me any trouble.

Here’s a link to one of Ibanez’s very reasonably priced metal guitars, in case you’re interested:
