How do i date a squire stratocaster?

ive got a tom delonge fender squire stratocaster with what appears to be a surf green finish. i know they were produced from 1994-2004 but i cant figure anything out even when looking up serial numbers and things like that. the s/n is: CY20915533 help me plz
date as in year… wow. if u dont know dont answer.

Hello! Actually, the Fender Squier version of the Tom Delonge Stratocaster was introduced in 2002, after the success of the MIM Fender guitars (1999-2004). The Chinese-made Squiers used a Seymour-Duncan Detonator pickup, as opposed to the Mexican-made Fenders using the Seymour-Duncan Invader pickup. Your serial number beginning with CY2, would indicate the country-of-manufacture being China, Yako (Taiwan), with a 2002 date-of-manufacture.
